The latest notification of TNPSC on the post of steno typist is expected to be released soon. The applications should be submitted online through the official website of TNPSC <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tnpsc.gov.in\/\">www.tnpsc.gov.in<\/a>. The recruitment process will be based on a written examination. The selected candidates are supposed to work in various departments such as Tamil Nadu ministerial service, Tamil Nadu judicial ministerial service, Tamil Nadu survey and land records subordinate service and Tamil Nadu secretariat service. Candidates belonging to SC, ST or backward classes will be provided with an age relaxation of 2 to 5 years.<\/p>\n<h3>Educational Qualification<\/h3>\n<p>Candidates should have passed SSLC public examination and they should be eligible for higher education. They are also supposed to qualify the government technical examination in type writing and shorthand,<br \/>\n\u2022 By higher\/ senior grade in Tamil and English or<br \/>\n\u2022 By higher\/ senior grade in Tamil and Lower\/ junior grade in English or<br \/>\n\u2022 By higher\/ senior grade in English and lower\/ junior grade in Tamil<br \/>\nIn addition, candidates should also possess a certificate course in computer on \u2018office automation\u2019 from the technical education department.<br \/>\nNB: Those who have not done the certificate course in computer are also eligible to apply and they are expected to do the course within the period of their probation.<br \/>\nKnowledge in Tamil language is a mandatory. The selected candidates have to qualify the second class language test in Tamil within a period of two years from the date of their appointment.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Salary_details\"><\/span>Salary details<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>For the post of steno typist, the salary will be between 20, 600 and 65, 500 per month.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Selection_procedure\"><\/span>Selection procedure<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The recruitment process is based on an objective type of written examination with a total of 300 marks with 200 questions. The questions will be based on the following topics.<br \/>\nA) General knowledge (SSLC standard) (75 questions)<br \/>\nB) General Tamil\/ general English (100 questions)<br \/>\nC) Aptitude and mental ability test (25 questions)<br \/>\nThe total time duration for the exam is 3 hours and the qualifying mark is 90.<br \/>\nCandidates with technical qualification of higher\/ senior grade in Tamil and English language will be considered first for selection.<br \/>\nIf candidates with the above qualification are not available, candidates with technical qualification of higher\/ senior grade in Tamil and Lower\/ junior grade in English will get a priority chance.<br \/>\nIf candidates with technical qualification of higher\/ senior grade in Tamil and English, higher\/ senior grade in Tamil and lower\/ junior grade in English are not available.
