Following steps are recommended by government organizations\u00a0 to help preserve the\u00a0 Ozone layer-<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Buy air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment that do not use HCFCs as refrigerant i.e, ozone friendly products.<\/li>\n<li>Buy aerosol products that do not use HCFCs or CFCs as propellants.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct regular inspection and maintenance of air-conditioning and refrigeration appliances to prevent and minimize refrigerant leakage.<\/li>\n<li>For existing air-conditioning and refrigeration appliances that operate on HCFCs or CFCs, the refrigerant should be recovered or recycled whenever an overhaul of equipment is to be carried out.
