Indian Premier League (IPL) is a professional Twenty 20 cricket league in India contested during March or April and May of every year by eight teams representing eight different cities or states in India<\/a>. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) founded this league in the year 2008. The IPL is the most-attended cricket league in the world. Here is a list of IPL winners and runner ups from 2008 to 2020.<\/p>\n

List of IPL team<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The following are the eight teams that are part of the Indian Premier League:<\/p>\n

Chennai Super Kings<\/h4>\n

This team is based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It plays its home matches at the M.A Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the Captain of the team. The team is coached by Stephen Fleming. The Super Kings have lifted the IPL title thrice (in 2010, 2011 and 2018), and has the highest win percentage among all teams in the IPL (61.28). It is the second-most valuable IPL franchise, after Mumbai Indians.<\/p>\n

Delhi Capitals<\/h4>\n

This team represents the city of Delhi. Founded in 2008 as the Delhi Daredevils, the franchise is jointly owned by the GMR Group and the JSW Group. The team’s home ground is Arun Jaitley Stadium, located in New Delhi. This is the only team that has never appeared in the IPL finals. The teamed is captained by Shreyas Iyer. The famous Australian player Ricky Ponting is the Coach of the team.<\/p>\n

Kings XI Punjab<\/h4>\n

The team is based in Mohali, Punjab. The franchise is owned by Mohit Burman, Ness Wadia, Preity Zinta and Karan Paul. The team plays its home matches at the PCA Stadium, Mohali. K. L Rahul captains the team and the team is coached by Anil Kumble.<\/p>\n

Kolkata Knight Riders<\/h4>\n

This team represents the city of Kolkata in the Indian Premiere League. It is owned by Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan, actress Juhi Chawla and her spouse Jay Mehta. The home of the Knight Riders is the iconic Eden Gardens stadium. They became the IPL champions in 2012, by defeating Chennai Super Kings in the final. They repeated the feat in 2014, defeating Kings XI Punjab.[5] The Knight Riders hold the record for the longest winning streak by any Indian team in T20s. The team is captained by Dinesh Karthik. Brendon McCallum is the Coach of the team.<\/p>\n

Mumbai Indians<\/h4>\n

This team represents the city of Mumbai, in Maharashtra. Reliance Industries owns the team. The team plays its home matches in the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Mumbai Indians is the most successful team in the IPL. Rohit Sharma captains the team. Mahela Jayawardene is the head coach of Mumbai Indians.<\/p>\n

Rajasthan Royals<\/h4>\n

This team is based in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The team is based at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. Steve Smith is the Captain of the team. Andrew McDonald coaches the team. Amisha Hathiramani, Manoj Badale, Lachlan Murdoch, Ryan Tkalcevic, Shane Warne are the Owners of the team.<\/p>\n

Royal Challengers Bangalore<\/h4>\n

They are based in Bangalore, Karnataka. It was founded in 2008 by United Spirits and named after the company’s liquor brand Royal Challenge. The team plays its home matches at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. The Royal Challengers have never won the IPL but finished runners-up on three occasions between 2009 and 2016. The team is captained by Virat Kohli and is coached by Simon Katich.<\/p>\n

Sunrisers Hyderabad<\/h4>\n

The team is based in Hyderabad, Telangana. Kalanithi Maran of the Sun TV Network owns the franchise. The team was founded in 2012 after the Hyderabad-based Deccan Chargers were terminated by the IPL. The team is captained by David Warner and coached by Trevor Bayliss. The primary home ground of the team is the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Hyderabad.<\/p>\n
