Additionally, it designs strategic and long term policies and programmes for the Government of India. Above all, it brings the States to act together towards national welfare, thereby fostering Cooperative federalism. However, with the necessary resources, knowledge and skills it accelerates research and innovation. There are basically two hubs that serve as the core of NITI Aayog, namely Team India Hub and the Knowledge and Innovation Hub. In fact, both the hubs play a vital role in the functioning of NITI Aayog. The Team India Hub pilots the engagements of the State and Central Governments.
