The banking exams are generally held in three stages \u2013 Preliminary exam, Main exam and interview.<\/p>\n<p>Preliminary exam has three sections \u2013 reasoning ability, quantitative aptitude and English language.<\/p>\n<p>Main exam has four sections &#8211; Reasoning Ability &amp; Computer Knowledge, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language and General Awareness.<\/p>\n<h3>Banking Exam syllabus<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Reasoning ability<\/strong> &#8211; Coding &amp; Decoding, Puzzles, Seating Arrangement, Logical reasoning, Ranking and Order, Alphanumeric series, Data sufficiency, Syllogism, Input and output, statement, argument &amp; assumption, Reasoning Analogy, Reasoning Inequality.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Quantitative aptitude<\/strong> &#8211; Simplification and Approximation, Profit &amp; loss, Number Series, Quadratic equations, Problems on Ages, Boat and Stream, Data Interpretation, speed, time &amp; distance, percentage, ratio &amp; proportion, number system, simple &amp; compound interest, probability, mensuration, mixture &amp; allegations, Time and Work, Pipes and Cistern, Boat and Stream, Problems on Trains.<\/p>\n<p><strong>English language<\/strong> &#8211; Reading comprehension, cloze test, fill in the blanks, tenses rules, Sentence Rearrangement\/ jumbled sentences, error detection, preposition rules, paragraph completion, idioms &amp; phrases, Essay &amp; Letter Writing for Descriptive Exam<\/p>\n<h2>Tips and Strategies for Handling Different Sections of Bank Exam<\/h2>\n<h3><strong>English language<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>This section contains questions to test your knowledge on English language and grammar. The questions cover topics like reading comprehension, fill in the blanks, para jumbles etc. It is better to start with fill in the blanks, cloze test and para jumbles. Leave the spotting error questions to the end as they are time- consuming, especially if it is not your strong area. Read the comprehension passage thoroughly and spot the questions below the passage. Do not stick to the questions if you can not find the answers to it. Move on to the next question. Try to complete the English section within 10 minutes.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Quantitative aptitude<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Quantitative aptitude consists of mathematical problems. First questions that you attempt should be from those topics in which you are strong. Do not dwell on hard questions for long. Keep in mind that all the questions have equal weightage. The more time you spend on one hard question would mean lose of time to solve simple questions. Do not make wild guesses. Try to finish this section within 15 minutes.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Reasoning ability<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Reasoning Ability section includes of tricky and logical reasoning problems. These questions take more time. Hence, you need to devote at least 20 minutes for this section. Begin with the simple ones like blood relations, coding-decoding, directions etc. Once you have completed the simple ones, you can move on the trickier ones like syllogism, sitting arrangement etc.<\/p>\n<p>Once you have finished attempting the questions of all the sections, move on the ones you left behind.
