The recruited candidates will fill the vacancies for posts like<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Assistant Commandant, Police, Tahsildar and various Officer levels. The recruitment is suited for people eager to get government sector jobs in Karnataka. The main criteria are that the candidates should be willing to work anywhere in Karnataka and should be proficient in reading, writing and speaking in both English and Kannada. The exam-based selection is known as <\/span><b>Karnataka Recruitment of Gazetted Probationers<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>Karnataka Administrative Services Exam. <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The KAS exam has three stages:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Stage I. Preliminary Examination (Objective Type) for the Selection of candidates to the main examination.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Stage II. Main Examination (Written Examination) for selection of candidates to the personality test.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Stage III. Personality test: For the final selection of candidates to various posts.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>The dates for the examinations will be published soon.<\/b><\/p>\n<h3><b>Eligibility Criteria for KAS exam<\/b><b>\u00a0 \u00a0<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The candidate must be a citizen of India.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Candidates must have graduated from a recognized university with a degree\/ masters in relevant fields.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The minimum age is 21 and the maximum is 35 in general. Category 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B: can have <\/span><b>38 years and <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SC\/ ST\/ Category-I: can have <\/span><b>40 years as the age.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>KPSC KAS 2018 Exam Pattern<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><b> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">KAS exam has three stages and the first two are written exams while the final round is an interview.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>KAS Prelims Exam Pattern<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">KPSC question paper will be in the set of both Kannada and English.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There will be two papers for preliminary examination and each paper will have 100 questions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The question paper will consist of multiple choice objective type questions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Each question carries 2 marks and a negative marking of 0.25 for each incorrect answer.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The standard of General Mental ability questions shall be at 10th and SSLC level and remaining papers are degree level.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The total duration of the preliminary exam is 4 hours, with each paper having a duration of 2 hours.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n[table id=99 \/]\n<h3><b>KAS Main Exam 2018 Exam Pattern<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The question paper will be set in both Kannada and English.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">KPSC Mains Exam in descriptive mode.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There will be two qualifying paper namely Kannada and English, candidates should secure minimum 35% for these papers.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The qualifying papers mark is not counted for final merit.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The number of Candidates to be admitted for the Mains Examination shall be 20 times of the total vacancies.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0[table id=100 \/]<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>KPSC KAS 2018 Exam Syllabus<\/b><\/h3>\n<h4><b>Prelims Exam Syllabus<\/b><\/h4>\n<h4><b>GS Paper I<\/b><\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Important current events of National and International level.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Humanities \u2013 History of India- refer the topic it\u2019s multi-level aspects like social, economic, cultural and political aspects with the specs of Indian National Movement through special prominence on Karnataka.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Geography \u2013 India with a special attention on Karnataka and World Geography<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Indian polity and Economy \u2013 including Indian Political system, rural development, Planning and economic reform in India, sustainable development, demographics, poverty allegation etc.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h4><b>GS Paper II<\/b><\/h4>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Important current state events and State Government Programs<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0General Science &amp;
