IB and RAW are well thought of Institutions in our country. Most of us have aspired for the secretive natured job in our childhood watching the hero\/heroine officers protecting our country. Similar to that the RAW & IB officers will collect, do researches, and use information gathered in order to protect the country’s law enforcement, foreign policies, national security, and military. RAW & IB<\/strong><\/h2>\n

India\u2019s Intelligence Bureau is reputed to be the oldest such organization in the world. And, IB was created on 23 December 1887. IB is interfering with India’s domestic intelligence, internal security, and counter-intelligence agency. It was formed as part of the Intelligence Department for the British Indian Army in 1885.<\/p>\n

IB- Roles and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The Bureau comprises employees from law enforcement agencies, like individuals from the Indian Police Service (IPS) or the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) and the military. However, the Director of Intelligence Bureau (DIB) has always been an IPS officer.<\/p>\n

Domestic intelligence responsibilities, Intelligence collection in border areas (following the 1951-Himmat Singh Ji Committee). Human activity within India and in the neighborhood is to be monitored. It is also tasked with other external intelligence responsibilities as of 1951 until 1968 when the Research and Analysis Wing was formed.<\/p>\n

One of the biggest amelioration, since 2014, was a cessation of indulgence in internal-political espionage. Agency has also boosted up its infrastructure and recruited more agents. IB has been successful in stopping the earlier pattern of frequent terror attacks in India and the IB has also been successful in counter-intelligence.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Research and Analysis Wing- RAW<\/strong><\/h3>\n

After suffering a heavy loss in both the Sino-Indian War 1962 and the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965, the Indian Government felt the need to set up an intelligence wing that would take care of foreign intelligence gathering. Thus, the Research and Analysis Wing was established in September 1968.<\/p>\n

The Research and Analysis Wing is the foreign intelligence agency of India. The agency’s primary function is gathering foreign intelligence, counter-terrorism, counter-proliferation, advising Indian policymakers, and advancing India’s foreign strategic interests. It is also involved in the security of India’s nuclear program.<\/p>\n
