Interested candidates can apply online. The last date to submit the online applications is 24th March 2021. The preliminary exam has been scheduled to be held on 27th June 2021. The scheduled and strict preparation strategy is inevitable to crack the IAS Prelims and the Mains. For the basic preparations, candidates can rely on the books especially the NCERT textbooks from classes VI-XII. Both the question papers will be of the objective type (multiple choice questions) and each will be of two hours duration. The question papers will be set both in Hindi and English.<\/p>\n<p>The General Studies Paper-II of the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination will be a qualifying paper with minimum qualifying marks fixed at 33%. And, total qualifying marks of General Studies Paper-I of Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination as may be determined by the Commission.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Paper I \u2010 (200 marks, Duration 2 hours)<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Current events of national and international importance.<\/li>\n<li>History of India and Indian National Movement.<\/li>\n<li>Indian and World Geography-Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the World.<\/li>\n<li>Indian Polity and Governance-Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Economic and Social Development-Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives, etc.<\/li>\n<li>General issues on Environmental ecology, Bio-diversity, and Climate Change \u2013 that do not require subject specialization.<\/li>\n<li>General Science<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong>Paper-II\u2010(200 marks, Duration-2 hours)<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Comprehension<\/li>\n<li>Interpersonal skills including communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Logical reasoning and analytical ability<\/li>\n<li>Decision making and problem-solving<\/li>\n<li>General mental ability<\/li>\n<li>Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.) (Class X level), Data Interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency, etc. \u2014 Class X level);<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>UPSC IAS Prelims Subject-wise Study Material<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Current Affairs is a vast topic and very much difficult to memorize.
