Also called <strong>\u201cHari Malaysia\u201d<\/strong>, it is observed with a great sense of emotion and passion across the country. By the declaration of the Malaysian Federation on this day, provinces of Malaya, North Borneo, Sarawak, and Singapore united to a single state. Hence, this day was observed only in the states of Sabah and Sarawak. Later in 2010, Malaysia Day was declared a National Holiday throughout the country. This great merge took place on 16th September 1963. However, two years later, Singapore separated itself from the federation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Initially, it was scheduled to set up the new federation on 1st June 1963. But, it had to be postponed to 31st August to coincide with the Malaysia Independence Day celebrations. Unfortunately, it didn&#8217;t work out as the neighboring countries of Philippines and Indonesia raised a few objections with regard to the formation of the Malaysian Federation.
