It will promote prompt and structured healthcare across the country.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>National Health Policy 2017 aims to provide\n<ul>\n<li>Highest level of health and wellbeing for all at all ages<\/li>\n<li>Preventive and promotive health care orientation in all development policies<\/li>\n<li>Universal healthcare access<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>MoH&amp;FM set up a\u00a0committee under J. Satyanarayana to develop an executive framework for the National Health Stack<\/li>\n<li>The Satyanarayana committee recommended drafting a National Digital Health Blueprint to lay down the basic and action plan for a digital health mission<\/li>\n<li>The National Digital Mission Blueprint recommended the establishment of an entity called National Digital Health Mission to provide for a digital healthcare ecosystem for healthcare services across the country.<\/li>\n<li>The National Health Authority that is the top authority to execute the National Digital Health Mission is also the implementing authority of Ayushman Bharat.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\"><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"National_Digital_Health_Mission-Objectives\"><\/span><strong>National Digital Health Mission-Objectives<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The Prime Minister of India- Narendra Modi executed the National Digital Health Mission on 15th August 2020. It will promote prompt and structured healthcare across the country<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Establishment of Digital Health Systems\n<ul>\n<li>Core digital health data managed by these systems<\/li>\n<li>To manage the Infrastructure requirements for seamless exchange of services.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Creation of Registries\n<ul>\n<li>It will have all credible data of clinical establishments, healthcare professionals, health workers, drugs, and pharmacies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Enforcement of adoption of\u00a0open standards\u00a0by all national digital health stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Establishment of Standardized personal health records\n<ul>\n<li>It will take inspiration from international standards<\/li>\n<li>Based on an individual\u2019s informed consent, the records can be easily shared between individuals and healthcare professionals, and services providers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Enterprise-class health application systems\n<ul>\n<li>The aim will be to achieve health-related\u00a0Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Adoption of\u00a0cooperative federalism\u00a0while coordinating with states and union territories.<\/li>\n<li>Promotion of\u00a0private players\u2019 participation\u00a0along with the public health authorities<\/li>\n<li>Making\u00a0healthcare services portable\u00a0nationally.<\/li>\n<li>Promotion of\u00a0Clinical Decision Support (CDS) Systems\u00a0by healthcare professionals.<\/li>\n<li>Digitally manage:\n<ul>\n<li>Identifying people, doctors, and health facilities,<\/li>\n<li>Facilitating electronic signatures<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring non-repudiable contracts<\/li>\n<li>Making paperless payments<\/li>\n<li>Securely storing digital records, and<\/li>\n<li>Contacting people<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The National Digital Health Mission is set to be built alongside the existing public digital infrastructure like\u00a0PM Jan-Dhan Yojana.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"National_Digital_Health_Mission-Components\"><\/span><strong>National Digital Health Mission-Components<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>There are four components:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>National Health Electronic Registries<\/li>\n<li>A Federated Personal Health Records (PHR) Framework \u2013 It will fight twin challenges of:\n<ul>\n<li>Access to healthcare reports\/data by the patients and the healthcare provider for treatment<\/li>\n<li>Making the data available for medical research<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>A National Health Analytics Platform<\/li>\n<li>Other Horizontal Components like:\n<ul>\n<li>Unique Digital Health ID,<\/li>\n<li>Health Data Dictionaries<\/li>\n<li>Supply Chain Management for Drugs,<\/li>\n<li>Payment gateways<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"National_Digital_Health_Mission-Importance\"><\/span><strong>National Digital Health Mission-Importance<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>The institutional framework of the mission runs at different levels starting from the apex level, followed by the board of directors, CEO, and operations.<\/li>\n<li>It is an\u00a0<strong>IT-enabled healthcare infrastructure system<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Health ID<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 It will be a repository of all health-related information. Every participating stakeholder including healthcare providers and Indian citizens will be part of this health ID system on a voluntary basis. A unique health ID will be created by every citizen interested to access the benefits of this mission.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Health data consent managers<\/strong>\u00a0will be linked with unique health IDs of the patients; who will aid the seamless exchange of the health records between the patient and the doctors.<\/li>\n<li>The healthcare services will be provided through a\u00a0<strong>mobile app or through an official website<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Digi Doctor<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 He\/she will be the one who will be responsible for providing healthcare services across the country. An interested healthcare professional can act as a digital doctor to provide prescriptions to patients sitting in a different location altogether.
