Through the test, the eligibility of candidates for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Lectureship\/Assistant Professorship is determined. The online applications for JRF\/NET are invited twice a year. But following the pandemic scenario, the tests were conducted only once a year from 2020. The CSIR UGC NET is being conducted to determine the eligibility for Lectureship\/Assistant Professor in the subjects under Science and Technology. It was in 2020 the CSIR UGC NET exam was conducted as an online test. The maximum mark of the test will be 200. The question paper will have three sections, Section A, Section B, and Section C. Section A will contain the questions on General Aptitude, which will be common to all the subjects. Section B and C will contain the questions that are subject-specific. In Section A and B, 2 marks will be awarded for each correct answer while 4 marks for the correct answers in Section C. There are negative marks for the wrong answers.
