This year&#8217;s World Autism Awareness Day focuses on fostering a culture of respect and understanding towards autistic individuals, and encouraging them to participate fully and actively in all aspects of life.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"World_Autism_Awareness_Day_2024_History\"><\/span><strong><b>World Autism Awareness Day 2024<\/b><\/strong><strong><b>: History<\/b><\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>ASP\u00a0is a developmental disorder characterized by behavioral and communicational affections that impact a person\u2019s ability to navigate social interactions and also results in\u00a0repetitive and restricted behavior.<\/p>\n<p>The first historical occurrence\u00a0of the word \u201cAutism\u201d was made in by the psychiatrist Eugen Bleuler\u00a0in 1911, who used the term to describe a special\u00a0cluster of symptoms that were considered simple symptoms of schizophrenia as an intense\u00a0social withdrawal.<\/p>\n<p>In that order, it was in 1943, \u201cAutistic Disturbances of Affective Contact\u201d,\u00a0an article by\u00a0pediatric psychiatrist Dr. Leo Kanner characterized Autism as a social and emotional disorder in 1944. Hans Asperger released his \u201cAutism Psychopathology Article\u201d where he explained\u00a0autism to be a\u00a0disorder of normal intelligence children who have trouble\u00a0with social and communication skills.
