National Eligibility Test (NET) is conducted to find the eligible candidates for Assistant Professorship or Junior Research fellowship or both for Indian universities and colleges. CBSE was responsible for Conducting a National Eligibility Test on behalf of UGC. The application fee for the General category is 1000. For OBC-NCL it is 500 and for SC\/ST\/PwD\/Transgender it is 250. The candidates must possess a master&#8217;s degree or equivalent from any recognized university in India by UGC. Candidates appearing for the final semester can also apply for the exam. The NET exam conducted by National Testing Agency is a Computer Based Test (CBT). This is an online test and it consists of two papers. The exam for two papers will be done in the same session. The exam will be objective-type multiple-choice questions. Paper 1 consists of 50 questions and it carries 100 marks. Paper 2 consists of 100 questions and it carries 200 marks. Paper 1 will have 1 hour and Paper 2 will have 2 hours.
