Register Here!<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Unfair_to_blame_wheat_inflation_on_export_curbs_India_to_WTO\"><\/span><strong>Unfair to blame wheat inflation on export curbs: India to WTO<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"teads-inread sm-screen\">\n<div class=\"teads-ui-components-adchoices\">India on Friday told the World Trade Organisation (WTO) that it is not fair to criticize its export restriction on wheat for the growth in global prices of the commodity, and told the member countries to stop &#8220;naming and shaming&#8221; it.<\/p>\n<p>At an informal meeting on agriculture, New Delhi told it stopped wheat exports for the benefit of local food security, and asked the WTO members to examine the exports information of the last four-five months to know the major wheat exporters and contractors details.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>At the WTO meeting, India said there is no scarcity in global supply and that opinion by some traders is the real culprit behind the price rise.<\/p>\n<div>India has been blamed for the move in spite of exporting wheat worth $177 million in March and $473 million in April after the Russia-Ukraine war started in late February, even when at least eight countries&#8211;Egypt, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Kuwait, Kosovo, Ukraine and Belarus&#8211;imposed limitations on wheat exports.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, New Delhi disputed that traditionally it is not a large wheat exporter and trades out only 0.5 million tonnes yearly eventhough as an exception, it exported 7.<\/p><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/3MWTnuS\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Grab Latest Study Materials!
