They indicate\u00a0 market behavior or investor sentiment. With an underlying value of 100, Sensex is a market-weighted stock index that includes\u00a0 the stocks of the top 30 reputable companies, based on their financial strength and performance. Additionally, Sensex is calculated\u00a0 using the free-float market capitalization method, and the performance of\u00a0 30 selected stocks is directly reflected by the index grade.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The percentage of all\u00a0 shares issued by companies that are\u00a0 available\u00a0 to the\u00a0 public to trade in the market is known as the freely transferable market capitalization. In the free-floating market capitalization method, the market value of all\u00a0 30 stocks selected, relative to a reference period, is reflected by the index. Sensex is calculated first by\u00a0 determining the market capitalization of each of the 30 companies, and then multiplying it by a free-floating coefficient, providing a free-floating market capitalization. It is then divided by the index divisor.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>What is Nifty?\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0\u00a0National Stock Exchange Fifty (Nifty) is the stock market index of the National Stock Exchange (NSE). Also known as NIFTY 50 and CNX Nifty, it consists of 50 stocks that are actively traded on the NSE and are owned and managed by India Index Services and Products Ltd. (IISL), a subsidiary of NSE.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition, the underlying value of the index is 1,000 and it is calculated using the free-floating market capitalization weighting method.\u00a0 Similar to Sensex, the first market capitalization is\u00a0 calculated by multiplying equity by the market price. To determine the floating cap, equity\u00a0 is multiplied by the price and again it is\u00a0 multiplied by the IWF (Investigated Weight Factor).
