Amit Kumar, who is the director of Sanjay Gandhi Biological Park alias Patna zoo, was present on the occasion of conservation of Migratory species-conference of parties\u00a0(CMS-COP13)\u00a0\u00a0at Gandhinagar in Gujarat,where the\u00a0principal secretary of Bihar government’s \u00a0department of environment, forest and climate changes, and Deepak Kumar Singh has signed an \u00a0Memorandum of Understanding\u00a0or MoU with the\u00a0Natural History Society (\u00a0Bombay ) for establishing the ‘birds- ringing station’ in Bihar”.<\/p>\n
He\u00a0said that the proposed ‘birds ringing station’ in Bhagalpur would be the 1st<\/sup>\u00a0\u00a0ringing station to be set up by the support of any state government and 4th<\/sup>\u00a0\u00a0in the country and the 1st<\/sup>\u00a0\u00a0in the entire north India.<\/p>\n “The \u00a0Memorandum of Understanding\u00a0(MoU)\u00a0would be valid for 5\u00a0years in which the state government of Bihar will spend almost Rs five crore,” Amit Kumar said.<\/p>\n A\u00a0total of 130 countries are participating now for wider discussion at\u00a0the CMS-COP13\u00a0on the characteristics, behaviour and other information of migratory species. Detailing about the 1st<\/sup>\u00a0\u00a0government-supported ‘birds ringing station’, he said that the station will be manned by trained scientists and other technical manpower from Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS).<\/p>\n It will also be watching\u00a0arrivals of migratory birds in areas including Nakti (Jamui), Baraila wetland in Vaishali, Kusheswarasthan in Darbhanga, \u00a0and the Kanwar wetland in Begusarai.
