These include sports like air-racing, aerobatics, aero modelling, hang gliding, paragliding, para motoring and skydiving etc. India has the power to be among the leading nations in the world of air sports. It has a large geographical area, diverse topography, and good-weather conditions. It has a large population, especially the youth. It has a growing culture for adventure sports and aviation. Register Here!<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_is_NASP_2022\"><\/span><strong>What is NASP 2022?<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>NASP 2022 lays out the perception of making India as one of the top sports nations by 2030, by giving a safe, affordable, accessible, enjoyable and sustainable air sports ecosystem in India.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The key objectives of NASP 2022 include the following:<\/strong>a) Encourage an air sports culture in the country.\n<p>b) Accept international best practices in safety including but not limited to, air sports infrastructure, equipment, operations, maintenance and training.<\/p>\n<p>c) Develop India as a preferred global hub for air sports.<\/p>\n<p>d) Develop a simple, stakeholder-friendly and effective governance structure.<\/p>\n<p>e) Upgrade participation and success of Indian sportspersons in global air sports events.<\/p>\n<p>f) Encourage design, development and manufacturing of air sports equipment in India in line with the Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Governing Bodies: <\/strong>There will be\u00a0four-tier governance structure\u00a0for air sports in India namely:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li>Air Sports Federation of India (ASFI)\u00a0as the apex governing body.<\/li>\n<li>National associations for individual air sports or a set of air sports, as appropriate<\/li>\n<li>Regional (e.g. West\/ South\/ North East etc.) or State and Union Territory level units of the national air sports associations, as appropriate; and<\/li>\n<li>District-level air sports associations, as appropriate.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Significance:<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li>India has the ability to be among the leading nations in the world of air sports. Its perception is making India \u201cone of the top air sports nations by 2030\u201d. Scindia said in his address that the industry can likely generate 1 lakh jobs yearly and give hundred times the income it gives now.<\/p>\n<p>The first draft of the policy came out on January 1, 2022, from a committee that involved armed forces officials, members from the National Cadet Corps, and experts. The policy says the Air Sports Federation of India, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, will be the apex governing body. Tourism, the development of support infrastructure, and eventual manufacturing of sporting goods used in air sports can lead to \u201ceconomic multiplier\u201d effects, the Civil Aviation minister said. \u201cThis will be a private sector-led initiative in the truest form to make sure that it thrives in the years to come,\u201d said Scindia. Download Entri App!<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Under the new policy, there will be a four-tier governance structure for air sports in India namely<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Air Sports Federation of India (ASFI) as the apex governing body<\/li>\n<li>National associations for individual air sports or a set of air sports, as appropriate<\/li>\n<li>Regional (e.g. West\/ South\/ North East etc.) or State and Union Territory level units of the national air sports associations, as appropriate;<\/li>\n<li>District-level air sports associations, as appropriate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Safety\"><\/span><strong>Safety<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>a) Air sports by their very nature involve a higher level of risk than flying a regular aircraft. They also offer a base for new aviation technologies and safety procedures.<\/p>\n<p>b) Each air sports association shall formulate the safety standards for equipment, infrastructure, personnel and training etc. as per global best practices for its air sport. It shall describe the disciplinary actions to be taken in case of divergence and willful non-compliance.<\/p>\n<p>c) No person or entity involved in air sports shall breach the correct way of a manned aircraft.<\/p>\n<p>d) No later than forty-eight hours after an accident involving air sports activity takes place, the person or organization involved shall report the accident to the concerned air sports association in writing, along with a copy to the ASFI. Negligence to do so may lead to penal action.<\/p>\n<p>e) Failure to execute safety standards by an air sports association may lead to penal action by the ASFI against such association including financial penalties, suspension or dismissal.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Registration\"><\/span><strong> Registration<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>a) All persons and organizations offering air sports services shall be needed to register as members of the respective air sports associations.<\/p>\n<p>b) Key machinery used for air sports shall be registered with the respective air sports association, till such equipment is inoperative, damaged beyond repair or lost. The air sports associations be responsible for assuring safe and danger-free disposal of broken equipment by its members.<\/p>\n<p>c) A person may transfer an air sports machinery to another person by way of sale, lease, gift or any other way, after providing required details of the transferor, transferee and the registration number to the concerned air sports association.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Air_Sports\"><\/span><strong>Air Sports<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Air sports<\/strong> is not a single sport but quite a large sporting sphere including a extent of aerial activities. The sports which merge to make up the \u2018Air sports\u2019 include Air Racing, Aerobatics, Aeromodelling, Hang gliding, Human powered aircraft, Parachuting, Paragliding and Skydiving and many more.<\/p>\n<p>Many\u00a0Air Sports are also known as extreme sports with only one rule of pushing the envelope as far as one can. These comprise of air racing, hang gliding, paragliding, and wingsuit flying. Be it a small air craft or parachute on your back, the stakes are extremely high when you take part in Air Sports.<\/p>\n<p>All the disciplines counted in air sports are internationally managed by the non-profit organization Federation Aeronautique Internationale (FAI) founded in 1905.
