What they are doing gets captured on camera or whatever by motion capture, or even by using a remote-controlled robot.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Step 2: The robot interprets the scene<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Computers work out what the object is, what the action is, in what order the movements happen and what the goal is.<\/p>\n<p>Some researchers in 2026 got pretty close \u2013 89.97% accuracy in a video split on a benchmark. However when they used their own clips it was only about 71% accurate \u2013 a useful reminder that footage from the real world is a lot harder to work with than anything that has been tidied up for you.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Step 3: Human motion becomes robot motion<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Humans got fingers, wrists and balance &#8211; robots have got suction grippers, two-finger grippers or wheels. Translating one body&#8217;s movement into another is called the embodiment gap and its bloody trickySome methods, like Motion Tracks, translate movement into paths so that both human and robot can use the same format.<\/p>\n<p>That approach got 86.5% success on 4 real-world tasks using just a few minutes of human video plus a handful of robot demonstrations.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Step 4: The robot practises and improves<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Sensors track position, grip and what the robot is in contact with \u2013 and if it fails, it is either reinforcement learning or a few more demos to help the robot pick it up. This is how it learns to go beyond what it was originally shown.<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Synthetic data tools:<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Tools like NVIDIA&#8217;s Isaac Lab Mimic allow the system to generate a load of robot demos from just a tiny handful of human ones. These are the areas where this stuff is being put to the test. The IFR just reported that the world&#8217;s got a record 5 million units of industrial robots running on the factory floor as of 2025, and India is impressively installing nearly 10,500 of them \u2013 up 15% which is good enough to put them sixth in the world rankings.<\/p>\n<p>Between 2020 and 2025, installations in India grew at an average annual rate of about 27%.
