They are also empowered as executive magistrates, the post is also referred to as the Sub-Divisional Magistrate. The Collectorate play a significant role in the District administration. Collector heads the District and acts as the District Magistrate for maintaining Law and Order in the jurisdiction. He\/She deals mainly with Social Security Schemes, Land Matters and arms licensing etc. Deputy Collectors \/ Deputy District Collectors is usually a Tehsildars who report into the District Revenue Officer (DRO) who is also called the Additional District Collector and is the overall in-charge of revenue department for the district, DRO in turn reports into the District Collector (also called District Commissioner) who is in-charge of overall management of the district across all departments.<\/p>\n<h3>Deputy Supdt. of Police (Civil) Cat-2<\/h3>\n<p>The rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police or Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) are now state police officers who belong to the provincial police forces, either direct trainee at that rank or promoted from inspector. Deputy Superintendents are generally posted as circle officers in a district. The primary duties of the superintendent of Police are to keep the force under his control properly trained, efficient and contented and to ensure by constant supervision that the prevention, investigation and detection of crime in his district are properly and efficiently dealt with by the Police force under his command.<\/p>\n<p>He must, therefore, get to know all officers and men serving under him and see that they are properly trained. He must enforce discipline, if any, and encourage men who are promising and weed out those who are of no use to department. At the same time move constantly be in touch both with his subordinates and with the public. He should pay surprise visits to his Police Stations at irregular intervals and check-up whether officers and men are alert.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/entri.sng.link\/Bcofz\/gvjl\/o8qk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Attempt mock tests of APPSC exams on Entri<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>District Panchayat Officer<\/h3>\n<p>The District Panchayat Officer shall exercise supervision and control over the: Divisional Panchayat Officers, Extension Officer (Panchayats) and their staff in the District, Gram Panchayats and their executives and also provide guidance to them, visit other Gram Panchayats as many as possible for the purpose of inspection, superintendence and conducting of enquiries etc., he shall take immediate action against the defaulters under the provisions of Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, inspect the Offices of all Divisional Panchayat Officers and Extension Officer (Panchayats) in the district in every year, hold enquiries and submit reports to the higher authorities on complaints of mal-administration in Gram Panchayats.<\/p>\n<p>He\/she have to maintain necessary statistics about the working of Gram Panchayats, within the District, prepare and submit Annual Confidential Reports relating to the post of Extension Officer (Panchayats) and Divisional Panchayat Officers in the District and submit to the commissioner of Panchayat Raj with his remarks, review the replies on audit report, assist the District collector, inspects the works taken up in Gram Panchayats, etc.<\/p>\n<h3>District Tribal Welfare Officer<\/h3>\n<p>The officer have to study and assess the Tribal Community and understand the needs of the people.
