Candidates must qualify in both sections of the Preliminary Examination to be shortlisted for the Main Examination. There is <strong>no interview<\/strong> for the IBPS RRB Clerk post. The other tests are conducted in the prescribed medium mentioned in the official notification.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>IBPS RRB Clerk Final Merit<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">For Office Assistants (Multipurpose), candidates must obtain the minimum required score in each test of the Main Examination. However, merely qualifying individual tests is not sufficient; candidates must also score sufficiently high in the overall merit.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Only the marks obtained in the Main Examination are considered for the final merit list.<\/strong> Prelims marks are not added to the final score.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>IBPS RRB Clerk Negative Marking 2026<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">The <strong>IBPS RRB Clerk exam has negative marking<\/strong> in both the Preliminary and Main examinations. For every wrong answer, <strong>0.25 marks (one-fourth of the marks assigned to that question)<\/strong> will be deducted. There is <strong>no negative marking for questions left unanswered<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Candidates should therefore avoid making random guesses and attempt questions carefully, especially when they are not confident about the answer.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Language Proficiency Test <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Candidates qualified must be proficient in the language specified by RRB\u2019s. Candidates who have already studied the language of the State in Std VIII or any level above Government recognized Boards of Education\/ School or have any certificate of Std VIII or any level above Std VIII would be considered proficient in that local language. If the candidate does not meet the requirement in the local language at the time of selection, he will be given a time of six months from the date of joining to acquire the proficiency.
