A takes 8 hours to do work. And that of B takes 10 hours to do the same. In how many days they together will do the same work?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Solution:<\/p>\n<p>Efficiency (E) = Work (W) \/ Days (D)<\/p>\n<p>Ram can do a work in 10 days.<\/p>\n<p>Nitu can do the work in 15 days.<\/p>\n<p>Find out the LCM (that is the total work) of 10 and 15 = 30<\/p>\n<p>So, Efficiency of Ram = 30\/10 = 3<\/p>\n<p>Efficiency of Nitu = 30\/15 = 2<\/p>\n<p>So total Efficiency= 3+ 2= 5<\/p>\n<p>So the total days taken by them to complete the work together = W\/ E = 30\/ 5= 6 days.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. A and B together can complete a particular task in 4 days. If A alone can complete the same task in 12 days. Then, Efficiency of A+ B = 3.<\/p>\n<p>The efficiency of A = 40\/a<\/p>\n<p>The efficiency of B = 40\/a+6<\/p>\n<p>Substituting this in Efficiency of A+ B = 3, we will get 3a\u00b2 -62a &#8211; 240 = 0<\/p>\n<p>solve this, then A= 24 days, B = 30 days.<\/p>\n<p><strong>5. Two workers A and B working together completes a work in 5 days. If A worked twice as efficiently ad he actually did and B worked 1\/3 as efficiently as he did actually, then the work would have completed in 3 days.
