After Document verification, the shortlisted candidates will be summoned for counselling to allot the post and Unit \/ Department in the order of rank and category. There will not be any interview process. There will be separate cut off marks for male &amp; female candidates and for different categories. In type 1, there is General Studies (75 questions) + Aptitude &amp; Mental Ability Test (25 questions) and General English (100 questions). All of the decisions related to the allotment will be made by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission. The candidates will not be able to raise any objection in terms of the decisions made by the concerned authorities of the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission for the allotment. The posts under the TNPSC Group 4 are Village Administrative Officer, Junior Assistant, Field Surveyor, Bill Collector, Draftsman, Typist, and Stenographer. The selection process includes a single-stage written examination following the document verification. For TNPSC Group 4 exams basic qualification is 12th. The exam is common for all posts.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Village Administrative Officer (VAO)<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p class=\"ui_qtext_para u-ltr u-text-align--start\">The \u201cPanchayat Secretary\u201d is considered the Village Administrative Officer(VAO). She\/<b><\/b>He is the administrative head of the villages and has the power of maintaining the village funds collection and disbursal. They are entitled to shortlist the eligible members for the government schemes, initiate constructions, etc. The VAO is responsible for the preparation and maintenance of different records like land and revenue. The\u00a0 Village Administrative Officers will be promoted as Assistant. After 06 years of service, they can attend the department tests for promotions. Promotions up to Deputy Collector are possible depending upon the service period.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Junior Assistant<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The Junior assistants are recruited either for the Judicial department or towards the Ministerial Service. They are supposed to work under the secretaries and the Judges. The Junior Assistants\u2019 main duty is to assist the day-to-day clerical works. Like the VAOs Junior Assistants can also attend the department tests after 06 years of service.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Typist and Steno Typist<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Stenographers usually work as the personal assistants of the higher officials. In judicial services, they will be working as court clerks. They are supposed to draft the court orders and other dictations by the Judges.
