The reservoirs formed due to the construction of dams can be used for several purposes like irrigation, industrial use, navigation etc. Also, it helps to suppress flood. National Register of Large Dam (<strong>NRLD<\/strong>) is a compilation of the dams in India, based on the information received from the State Governments.\u00a0 \u00a0At present, there are 5264 completed large dams and 437 under construction large dams are in our country.
