Central Teachers Eligibility Test (CTET) is a national level eligibility test to fill vacancies for teaching positions for classes 1 to 8. 1. Knowing the exam pattern<\/h4>\n

To crack any exam, it is important that you prepare well. To prepare well, the first step is to know the exam pattern. As mentioned before, CTET exam is conducted in two stages followed by an interview round and certificate verification round. There will be two papers and those who wish to teach from classes I-V have to appear for paper I. Those who wish to teach classes between VI-VIII, should attempt paper II. All those who wish to teach at both levels should attempt both the papers. Paper will be bilingual, i.e., the questions will be in both Hindi and English. To qualify, the candidate is to score more than 60% marks. Also, the result is valid for 7 years after the result has been declared.<\/p>\n

Once you have familiarised with the exam pattern, the next thing to do is to know the syllabus. Go through the syllabus to get an idea of the topics that need to be covered. Also, this will help you in figuring out the areas in which you are weak and needs to focus more.<\/p>\n

3. Understanding the standard of the questions<\/h4>\n

Understanding the standard of the questions is the next step while preparing for CTET. This will help you to grasp the level of the question in terms of easiness. The test on Child Development and Pedagogy focuses on educational psychology of teaching and learning for the age group of 6-11 years. Language I will focus on the proficiency of the medium of instruction. Language II will concentrate on elements of any language other than Language I as opted by the candidate. Test on Mathematics and science will test the concept, problem solving abilities, understanding and application of the subjects.<\/p>\n

As the exams are conducted in the offline mode, the candidates need to develop speed in pen and paper mode.
