The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the SSC Combined Graduate Level Exam for Group B and C (Gazetted and non-Gazetted) posts in various Government of India institutions. Staff Selection Commission Graduate Level Combined Examination is the full name of the SSC CGL exam. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Exam for recruitment to various subordinate services like:

Selection Process

SSC CGL 2024 Examination will be conducted in four tiers as indicated below:

1. Level I: Computer-Based Test (qualifying in nature).

2. Tier-II consists of Paper I (mandatory for all positions), Paper II (for applicants seeking Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) positions in the Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation, and Paper III (for applicants seeking Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer positions).

Upon successful application, all applicants for the SSC CGL test will receive an Admit Card and Roll Number for the Computer-Based Examination (Tier-I).

  • Candidates will be shortlisted, category-wise, to take the Tier-II and Tier-III Exams based on their Tier-I grades.
  • Paper-II of Tier-II (the position of Junior Statistical Officer; JSO), Paper-III of Tier-II (the posts of Assistant Audit Officer and Assistant Accounts Officer), and Paper-I of Tier-II (the post of all other jobs) will all have their own set of cut-offs.
  • All eligible applicants from Tier-I will take Tier-II examinations.
  • Paper-I, Paper-II, and Paper-III must be completed by all applicants in Tier-II. However, Paper-II and Paper-III will only need the appearance of certain applicants who have been shortlisted for the positions of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) and Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer, respectively.

Before beginning the Staff Selection Commission Combined Graduate Level preparation, it is important to make note of changes in the exam pattern and syllabus. The modifications to SSC CGL Exam Pattern 2024 for Tier 1 & 2 are given below:
SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam Pattern 2024

SSC CGL Tier-1 Exam will be conducted online comprising 4 sections with 100 multiple choice questions (MCQs) in total and with maximum marks of 200. The entire exam is needed to be completed in a time span of 60 minutes. SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam will be of a qualifying nature and marks will not be counted in the final selection.
