How to Use Mother-Son Prompts

Open Gemini’s image-generation feature and paste a prompt into the chat box. You can ask Gemini to create a new image or upload a photograph and request an edit. A useful prompt structure is:

Create a [type of image] of a mother and her son [action or interaction] in [location]. The mother is wearing [outfit], and the son is wearing [outfit]. Use [lighting], [mood], [camera framing], and [aspect ratio].

For example:

Create a warm, realistic photograph of a mother and her young son walking hand in hand through a flower garden at sunset. The mother is wearing a pastel saree, and the son is wearing a light-blue shirt and beige trousers. Use golden-hour lighting, natural smiles, gentle background blur, and a vertical 4:5 composition.

If you are editing a personal photo, use an instruction such as:

Edit the uploaded image by improving the lighting and background while preserving the mother’s and son’s faces, identity, expressions, clothing, pose, and natural body proportions.

You can refine the output with follow-up prompts such as:

Make their expressions more natural while preserving the original composition.

Replace the background with a peaceful beach and keep the mother and son unchanged.

Correct the hands and improve the lighting without altering their facial features.

When using real people’s photographs, make sure you have their permission. Avoid creating misleading, inappropriate, or privacy-invasive images.

How to Improve Mother-Son Images

AI-generated family images may sometimes contain unnatural hands, awkward poses, inconsistent faces, or incorrect clothing details. You can improve the result by giving Gemini one focused follow-up instruction at a time. Google also recommends refining complex images through smaller, specific changes rather than expecting the first result to be perfect. Try these follow-up prompts:

Keep the mother and son’s faces, outfits, and background unchanged, but make their hands look natural.

Preserve the original composition and make the son’s age and body proportions realistic.

Make the mother’s expression more loving and the son’s smile more natural.

Change the background to a peaceful beach while keeping the mother and son unchanged.

Make the mother hold her son’s hand naturally without changing their facial features.

Keep the traditional clothing accurate and remove any extra accessories.

Create a wider version with empty space on the right for a Mother’s Day message.

Convert the image into a square 1:1 composition for a social media post.

For an image based on a real photograph, you can also write:

Preserve the recognisable facial features of both people from the reference image, but keep the result respectful, natural, and family-friendly.

Always review the image before publishing it, especially if it contains real people or is being used in a public campaign.
