Q. The blood group which has no antigens?
Solution:
Red blood cell compatibility. Blood group AB individuals have both A and B antigens on the surface of their RBCs, and their blood plasma does not contain any antibodies against either A or B antigen. The blood group O has O- antigen (A glycoprotein on the surface of the RBC). The sequence of O antigen is Gal-NAG-Gal-Fuc. Due to expression of different GlycosylTransferase enzymes, different additional sugar molecules are added to the chain.
