His main ambition was to uplift the status of the Nair community. From 1915 onwards, he gave up law practice and became full-time secretary of the Nair Service Society.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>He took part in the Vaikom(1924) and Guruvayoor(1931) temple-entry Satyagrahas.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>In 1949, Padmanabhan became a member of the Travancore Legislative Assembly.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>In 1959, he along with Christian Churches led a united opposition against the State Communist Ministry, which became known as the Vimochana Samaram (liberation struggle).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Mannath Padmanabhan is also known as Bharatha Kesari.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mannathu Padmanabhan was an Indian social reformer and freedom fighter from Kerala.
