F, FE (failed on eligibility) and I/Ab (incomplete in 2019 scheme / absent in 2024 scheme) all carry 0 grade points. LP (Low Pass, 4.0 points) applies only to 2019-scheme students who passed the End Semester Exam but fell short on Continuous Internal Assessment. First Class requires CGPA ≥ 6.5; First Class with Distinction requires CGPA ≥ 8.0.

Yes, KTU CGPA is measured on a 10-point scale. The highest grade point (S grade) corresponds to 10, and the CGPA is a weighted average that also falls within the 0–10 range.
It depends on your scheme. For the 2024 scheme: Percentage = 10 × CGPA. For the 2019 scheme and earlier: Percentage = (10 × CGPA) − 2.5. Yes. A failed subject (F grade) carries 0 grade points but its credits still count in that semester's total credits, which pulls your SGPA down. Once you clear the backlog in a supplementary exam, KTU replaces the F with your new grade and recalculates the SGPA/CGPA for that semester — it does not simply average the two attempts.
You need a minimum grade of P (5.5 grade points) in every individual subject to pass it. There's no separate "pass CGPA" threshold, but a CGPA of 6.5 or above qualifies for First Class, and 8.0 or above for First Class with Distinction. Most placement drives look for 6.5–7.0+.
