Vaidyanathapuram Ramaiah Krishna Iyer or VR Krishna Iyer was an eminent jurist and statesman in India.

He studied at Annamalai University and the University of Madras and then became a lawyer. He became a member of the Madras Legislative Assembly in 1952 and a member of the Kerala Legislative Assembly in 1957.

He was the Minister of Home Affairs, Law, Prisons, Electricity, Social Welfare and Irrigation in the EMS Cabinet. He became a High Court Judge in 1968 and a member of the Law Commission in 1970.

He was a Supreme Court judge from 1973 to 1980. He is the only person in the world who has worked in all three components of government (legislation, administration and justice).
