• Part IX of the Constitution includes Articles 243 to 243-O which deals with various aspects of the Panchayat administration.
• Gramasabha is the only mechanism in democratic governance where common people can directly participate in governance.
• All the constituents of each ward of a grama panchayat are members of the gramasabhas of that ward.
• The gramasabha convener is the concerned grama panchayat member. The Grama Panchayat President is the Chairperson.
• The Grama Sabha should meet at least 4 times in a year. The quorum is 10 percent of the total Grama Sabha members.
