Schedule VII contains three lists Union list, State list and Concurrent list.
Some of the important powers include in the Union list are defence, armed forces, atomic energy, foreign affairs, citizenship, extradition, railways, shipping and navigation, airways, posts and telegraphs, telephones, currency, foreign trade, inter-state trade and commerce, banking, insurance etc.
Maintaining law and order, police forces, healthcare, transport, land policies, electricity in the state, village administration are some of the main powers included in State list.
Marriage and divorce, education, civil procedure, adulteration of foodstuffs, drugs and poisons, economic and social planning, trade unions, labour welfare are some major powers enlisted in Concurrent list.
