Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) is planning to launch the country’s second AstroSat-2 or space observatory. The mission is meant to further the study of astronomy (the study of celestial bodies) and astrophysics.

*Astrostat is India’s first X-ray space observatory, launched on a PSLV-XL on 28 September 2015.

*It orbits at 650 km altitude and has a life span of five years. It circles around the Earth in 97 minutes and makes 15 rounds a day.
