A series LC circuit with C near the output terminal can act as a band pass filter.

The inductor connected near the source terminal will pass low frequency components easily and blocks higher frequency components. The capacitance connected again in series with this inductor will pass the high frequencies within the frequencies passed by the inductor. Thus the overall system will become a band pass filter with its upper cut off frequency decided by the inductor and the lower cut off frequency decided by the capacitor.
