Harsha, also known as Harshavardhana, was an Indian emperor who ruled North India from 606 to 647 CE. He was a member of the Pushyabhuti dynasty and was the son of Prabhakarvardhana who defeated the Alcon Huna invaders. Harshavardhana was the last Hindu king of northern India. Harshans’ capital was Kannauj. At the height of his empire, his kingdom extended to Punjab, Bengal, and Orissa, and across the Indus-Gangetic plain north of the Narmada River.
