A lunar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes directly behind Earth and into its shadow. This can occur only when the Sun, Earth, and Moon are exactly or very closely aligned, with Earth between the other two. A lunar eclipse can occur only on the night of a full moon.

During a total lunar eclipse, Earth completely blocks direct sunlight from reaching the Moon. The only light reflected from the lunar surface has been refracted by Earth’s atmosphere.

World Kidney Day is observed on 12 March. It is celebrated on the second Thursday of March every year.
The day aims to create awareness and educate people about the importance of kidneys to overall health and to reduce the frequency and impact of kidney disease and associated health problems worldwide.
As a part of the 2020 campaign, the #MyGr8Rule challenge was launched on 8 February.

Binocular vision is the ability to maintain visual focus on an object with both eyes, creating a single visual image. Lack of binocular vision is normal in infants. Adults without binocular vision experience distortions in depth perception and visual measurement of distance.

Specialized cells known as guard cells surround stomata and function to open and close stomatal pores.

They also help to reduce water loss by closing when conditions are hot or dry.

Air enters the plant through these openings by gaseous diffusion and contains carbon dioxide which is used in photosynthesis and oxygen which is used in respiration.

Oxygen produced as a by-product of photosynthesis diffuses out to the atmosphere through these same openings.

Also, water vapor diffuses through the stomata into the atmosphere in a process called transpiration.

Transparent objects allow light to pass through them. Examples of transparent objects are: Air, glass, pure water, some plastics etc.

Opaque objects do not allow light to pass through them.

A translucent material lets light pass through, but objects on the other side can’t be seen clearly.

A translucent material lets light pass through, but objects on the other side can’t be seen clearly. Think Shrinky dinks or stained glass. In contrast, a transparent material allows you to clearly see the objects on the other side. Frosted glass is translucent, and regular glass is transparent.

An opaque object is neither transparentb nor translucent .

When light strikes an interface between two substances, in general some may be reflected, some absorbed, some scattered, and the rest transmitted (also see refraction).

Examples of opaque objects include wood, gold, cement, metal, some types of colored plastic, vegetation and so on.

When light strikes an opaque object it is either absorbed by the object or it is bounced off or reflected by the object.

For example, white objects reflect light, which is why they are cooler to the touch .

A solar eclipse (as seen from the planet Earth) is a type of eclipse that occurs when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth, and when the Moon fully or partially blocks the Sun.

The Moon’s orbit must cross Earth’s ecliptic plane in order for an eclipse (both solar as well as lunar) to occur.

Chlorophyll is a green photosynthetic pigment found in plants, algae, and cyanobacteria.

Chlorophyll molecules are specifically arranged in and around pigment protein complexes called photosystems, which are embedded in the thylakoid membranes of chloroplasts.

Chlorophyll, as extracted from leaves, consists of at least four pigments: chlorophyll A, chlorophyll B, carotene, and xanthophyll.
