Introduction

Friendship is filled with shared memories, inside jokes, celebrations, trips, and everyday moments. With Gemini, you can create realistic group photographs, friendship portraits, travel scenes, birthday images, college memories, candid lifestyle pictures, and creative illustrations featuring friends.

You can describe the number of friends, their clothing, activity, location, expressions, lighting, colour palette, photography style, and image format. Gemini supports both new image generation and edits to uploaded images, allowing you to transform a group photo while preserving important details.

The 45 prompts below are ready to copy and paste. You can customise them by changing the number of friends, age group, outfits, location, occasion, and aspect ratio.

How to Use Friends Prompts

Open Gemini’s image-generation feature and paste a prompt into the chat box. You can ask for a realistic photograph, cartoon illustration, watercolour painting, vintage collage, cinematic scene, or aesthetic social media image.

A useful structure is:

Create a [type of image] of [number and description of friends] [action] in [location]. Add [outfits, objects, and decorations]. Use [lighting], [mood], [photography style], and [aspect ratio].

For example:

Create a realistic photograph of five close friends laughing together at a beach during sunset. They are wearing coordinated casual outfits and standing near the waves. Use warm golden-hour lighting, natural body language, realistic facial details, and a vertical 4:5 composition.

When editing a personal group photograph, use an instruction such as:

Edit the uploaded group photo by improving the lighting and replacing the background with a beach at sunset. Preserve every person’s identity, face, expression, hairstyle, clothing, pose, and natural body proportions.

When generating images of real friends, use photographs only with everyone’s permission. Avoid creating misleading or inappropriate images of identifiable people.

How to Improve Friends Images

Group images can sometimes contain inconsistent faces, unnatural hands, duplicated people, awkward poses, or uneven lighting. Improve the result by asking Gemini to make one focused change at a time.

Try these follow-up prompts:

Keep every person’s face, hairstyle, clothing, and identity unchanged, but improve the group arrangement.

Correct the hands and fingers while preserving the original poses and expressions.

Make the friends look naturally connected instead of standing in a rigid line.

Remove the extra person in the background and preserve the main group.

Replace the background with a beach at sunset while keeping the friends unchanged.

Make the lighting consistent across every person in the group.

Preserve the original clothing colours and improve the facial details.

Create a vertical 9:16 version for a social media story without cropping any important faces.

Create a square 1:1 version with all friends centred naturally.

Make the image look like a candid photograph rather than a posed studio image.

If you are editing a real group photograph, you can write:

Improve the uploaded group photo by correcting exposure, reducing blur, and cleaning the background. Preserve every person’s identity, facial features, expression, hairstyle, clothing, pose, and body proportions.

Review the finished image before publishing it, particularly when the image includes identifiable friends or is being used for promotional content.
