  1. If a land is harvested by 4 men or 8 women or 12 boys in 11 days .How many days will be taken by 2 men , 6 women and 4 boys to harvest the same field.

Answer: Option A
  • 4 men = 8 wome = 12 boys

  • 1 man = 2 women = 3 boys

  • 2 men + 6 women + 4 boys = 2 x 3 boys + 6\( \times \) \( \frac{3}{2} \) boys + 4 boys = 19 boys

  • 12 boys can harvest in 11 days

  • 19 boys can harvest in \( \frac{11\ \times \ 12}{19} \) = \( \frac{132}{19}\)days

  1. The ratio between the present age of \(P\) and \(Q\) is \(6:7\).If \(Q\) is \(4\) years old than \(P\) what will be the ratio of ages of \(P\) and\(Q\) after\(4\) years

Answer: Option D
  • P = 6x , Q = 7x \(7x-6x=4\)

    \(x=4\)

  • Present ages are \(24,28\)

    age after \(4\) years is \(28,32\)

  • So the ratio will be \(7:8\)

  1. A train 240 m long is running at a speed of 98 km/h. In what time will it pass a man who is running at a speed of 10 km/h in the opposit direction?

Answer: Option B
  • Distance= 240 m

    Relative speed(opposit direction)=\(S_{1}+S_{2}\)=98+10=108 km/h

  • Convert into m/sec

    \(108\times\frac{5}{18}\)=30 m/s

    Time=\(\frac{Distance}{Speed}\)

    =\(\frac{240}{30}\)= 8 sec

  • Answer is 8 sec.

  1. The simple interest on a certain sum of money for 2 year at 3% pa is \(\frac{3}{4}\) of the compound interest on Rs. 32000 for 1 year at 3% pa. Find the sum placed on simple interest?

Answer: Option C
  • compound interest for 1 year=\(32000\times\frac{3}{100}=960\)

    SI for 2 year=\(960\times\frac{3}{4}=720\)

    720=\(sum\times\frac{3}{100}\times2\)

  • Sum=12000

  • Answer is 12000.
  1. \(\frac{(18+0.5)^2-(18-0.5)^2}{0.5}=?\)

Answer: Option B
  • \((a+b)^2-(a-b)^2=4ab\)

  • \(\frac{(18+0.5)^2-(18-0.5)^2}{0.5}=\frac{4\times18\times0.5}{0.5}\)

    \(4\times18=72\)

  • Answer is 72.
