About KVS PGT/TGT Exam

The KVS PGT/TGT exams are conducted by Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan to recruit teachers for various subjects. The PGT exam is for postgraduate degree holders, while the TGT exam is for graduates. Both exams include multiple-choice questions on General Awareness, Reasoning, Current Affairs, and subject-specific topics. Preparation requires strong subject knowledge and practice with mock tests. KVS PGT/TGT Exam Details

The KVS PGT and TGT exams are computer-based, online tests conducted in both English and Hindi. These exams do not have negative marking for incorrect answers, making them more approachable for candidates.

Duration: Both exams last for 180 minutes.
Number of Questions: The KVS PGT exam contains 150 questions, while the TGT exam has 180 questions. Each question is worth one mark.

Eligibility for KVS PGT/TGT Exams

To be eligible for the KVS PGT exam, candidates must have a Master’s Degree in the relevant subject with at least 50% marks from a recognized university, along with a B.Ed or equivalent degree.

For the KVS TGT exam, candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in the relevant subject (with at least 50% marks) and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree.

Age Limit
  • KVS PGT: Maximum age limit is 40 years
  • KVS TGT: Maximum age limit is 35 years

Additionally, candidates must have proficiency in teaching in both Hindi and English, and must have cleared CTET for both TGT and PGT exams.

The KVS TGT Exam 2024 consists of 180 multiple-choice questions, each carrying 1 mark, with a total of 180 marks. The exam duration is 3 hours, and it includes no negative marking for incorrect answers. The selection process includes a written test (180 marks) followed by a demo teaching session and interview (30+30 marks).

  • General Knowledge & Current Affairs: Covers a wide range of topics like sports, history, geography, economics, politics, science, and national/international events.
  • Reasoning Ability: Includes verbal and non-verbal reasoning, puzzles, blood relations, analogies, syllogism, and data sufficiency.
  • Computer Literacy: Tests knowledge of basic computer concepts, internet, database management, and operating systems.
  • Focuses on educational psychology, teaching-learning processes, creating a conducive learning environment, and understanding school organization and leadership in education.
  • Questions related to the subject of choice, such as Hindi, English, Science, Social Studies, Mathematics, Sanskrit, Physical Health and Education or any other TGT subject.
