The recruitment will be conducted across various states in India. The SBI releases the notification for the 6160 available vacancies. The average starting salary scale for the post ranges between ₹15,000 - ₹19,000 for the freshers. The application fee to apply for the SBI Apprentice Recruitment General/OBC/EWS category is Rs.300/- whereas the candidates belonging to the SC/ST/PWD category can submit the application form without remitting any application fees. The candidates can attend the exam in 13 regional languages including Assamese, Manipuri, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Telugu, Urdu along with English & Hindi. For each wrong answer, 1/4th of the mark will be deducted as a negative mark.

The second stage is the test of proficiency in handling the local language. The test involves the writing, speaking, reading, and listening of the local language. Only those candidates who have qualified for the written exam will be allowed to attend the second stage of the exam. The test center will be allocated for each candidate within the state of their choice.

The candidates who clear the online exam and the local language proficiency test have to appear for the medical examination. This is the final and the most crucial step of the selection for the post of Apprentice in SBI. As per the requirement, the candidates should prove that they are medically fit to occupy the position. Valid documents should be submitted at the time of the medical examination.
