About SSC Stenographer Exam

The SSC Stenographer Exam is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) to recruit stenographers in various government departments and ministries. SSC Stenographer Application Fees

SSC Stenographer Eligibility Criteria for 2024 include:
Educational Qualification
Candidates must have completed 10+2 or its equivalent from a recognized university or board. Degrees obtained through open or distance learning must be verified by the Distance Education Bureau of the University Grants Commission.
Age Limit
Candidates should be minimum 18 years old. For Grade C, the maximum age limit is 30 years, and for Grade D, it is 27 years.

Eligibility Criteria for Ex-Servicemen

The eligibility criteria for Ex-Servicemen are as follows:

  • Anyone who has served in the Army, Navy, or Air Force of India, regardless of their rank (Combatant or Non-Combatant), qualifies.
  • Individuals who have retired, been discharged, or relieved after completing their engagement period, or have voluntarily left or were discharged due to inefficiency, and have received a gratuity and pension from the Indian Territorial Army are eligible.
  • Those who served in the Army Postal Service in the Regular Army and retired due to medical reasons or without reverting to their parent service but with a pension are included.
  • Individuals who were on deputation in the Army Postal Service for over six months before April 14, 1987, also meet the criteria.
  • Ex-Servicemen who have received Gallantry awards in the Armed Forces, including Territorial Army Personnel, are eligible.
  • Individuals recruited who had to leave due to medical reasons and received a medical disability pension also fall under the Ex-Serviceman category.
