She came into the limelight through Big Boss season 4, debuted on Sunday, March 27, hosted by superstar Mohanlal. 16 candidates are initially introduced, including Blesslee, Sooraj Thelakkad, Lakshmi Priya, Kutty Akhil, and Aparna Mulberry. Aparna vied enthusiastically in that mass entertainment program. Her vibrant game spirit and endearing personality made her more popular with people. But Unfortunately, Aparna Mulberry was evicted from the Bigg Boss House after facing the public vote on 56th Day.

Born to a Chilean mother and an American father who met in India years ago, Aparna Mulberry was raised in Kerala with proper schooling and nurturing in Kerala just like any other Keralite. When 3-year-old Aparna Mulberry moved with her parents to Kerala, other students in her class wondered why she was different. The name was indeed Indian but Aparna was a white-skinned student, born to a Chilean mother and an American father who met in India. Sooner, she became a part of the clan.

When she was 15, her parents moved from Kollam to the United States, where she partook a cultural shock on different levels. Desperate to speak Malayalam and reconnect with her old friends for years, Aparna started an Instagram account titled ‘Inverted Coconut’. And within a matter of months, Aparna has captured the hearts of thousands of Malayalis, non-resident Malayalis, and non-Malayalis.

Education

Aparna did her schooling in Kollam and lived in the Amritapuri Ashram with her parents. She was in Vivekananda Public School, which was not an English medium school, she shortly transferred to Amrita Vidyalaya, where she did her primary and higher secondary schooling. “Although it was an English medium school, all my friends spoke in Malayalam. I used to be teased initially, but they taught me the language through conversations, fighting, and teasing. In school, I took up Sanskrit so I give full credit to my friends for my efficiency in spoken Malayalam,” expressed Aparna.

Career as Inverted Coconut (English Tutor)

She drove back to the US in 2005 where she completed high school and university. When she was a student in the US, she partook in a program called AmeriCorps NCCC that hires 18 to 24-year-olds in the United States in community service. As a part of the schedule, she can see a few distinct schools for lower-income students and she loves to help the teachers there in their classes.

Some of them were not capable to take the classes, so she would take over. That was her first-time teaching in her life. There, she created a method of grouping pupils who were toiling and giving them special tutoring sessions. The next year, in 2009, she moved back to Kerala and saw the school that she had studied in years ago. And she performed the same procedure in Kerala and it worked just as well. In 2011, she moved to Thailand shortly where she served as a tutor with a company called VIP Kid, where teachers in the US teach English to children in China.

Aparna was in a strong relationship with Amrita Sri in Spain and has built a deep belief that Amrita is the one with whom she should share her entire love life. Including in a same-sex relationship was doubtful for her in terms of the acceptance and support that she will receive from her favourite place. “I met my wife Amrita Sri in Spain during one of the service activities of Amma (Amritanandamayi). We have been together for 6 years and got married in 2017.
