BRICS film festival was held with the 52nd International Film Festival Of India on 28th November 2021. The South African film, Barakat is a dramatic comedy about an ageing matriarch who tends to bring together the dysfunctional family on the festival of Eid to inform them about her new budding romance. The film has already won many awards in various international film festivals across the globe. The other film is a story of a young man trying to regenerate the zeal to live life in an old man so that he can see his lost daughter.

- The best director award was won by Brazilian filmmaker Lucia Murat for her documentary film Ana.
- Ana is a film depicting the odd battles that women have to go through in order to find their identities in society.
- Actor Dhanush won the best actor male for his acting in Asuran.
- Brazilian actress Lara Boldorini won the best actor female award for her film, On Wheels.
- A special mention award was presented to Director Yan Han for his film A Little Red Flower From China.
