The SSC Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) is a level 1, a General Central Service Group “C” Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial post in various Ministries/ Departments/ Offices of the Government of India, in different States/ and Union Territories. The Multi-Tasking Staff job profile includes the general cleanliness of the unit, physical maintenance of records, and files, photocopying, other non-clerical work in the section/ unit, upkeep of parks, lawns, etc. The Pay-scale of Multi Tasking Staff follows Pay Band-1 (Rs 5200-20200) + Grade Pay Rs 1800, (Revised Pay Scale after 7th Central Pay Commission. SSC MTS Notification 2022

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) MTS is a non-gazetted, Group C posts in various departments under the central services. According to the latest central service rules, the posts of Sr. Gestate Operator, Dafter, Library Attendant, Messenger-cum-Daftry, Jamadar (Sr. Peon), Peon, Examination Work Attendant, Chowkidar, Farash, and Safai Karamchari have been re-designated as Multi Tasking Staff.

SSC MTS Eligibility Criteria

  • Age Limit: Candidates age shall be between 18 years and 27 years as on January 01, 2021. candidates born not before 1996 January 02 and not later than January 01, 2003. The age limits for the posts as per the Recruitment Rules of various Departments are:

Candidates age shall be between 18 years to 27 years as of the last date of notification.

2. Other Backward Classes (eligible for reservation) 3 years
3. Persons With Disability (PwD) 10 years
4. Ex-Servicemen/ Disability Ex-Servicemen The actual period of service rendered in the defence forces + 3 years subject to a maximum of 45 years.
5. Widows, Divorced women and women legally separated from their husband who has not remarried 5 years
6. Persons ordinarily domiciled in the Kashmir Division of the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period 1-1-80 to 31-12-89 5 years
7 Existing Employees of The New India Assurance Co. Ltd. 5 years
  • Education Qualification: The candidates must have passed the Matriculation/ SSLC Examination or the equivalent from a recognized Board.

SSC MTS 2022 Vacancy 

The commission has not yet published the official notification and is scheduled to be published on March 22, 2022. From the official notification, it is identified that there is a total of 3603 vacancies.

The given below are the details regarding the previous year’s vacancy details Usually, the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) updates the Vacancy details before the final results. As of now let’s check the SSC MTS 2019 vacancy details.

SSC MTS Application Form

To start your SSC MTS 2022 application, candidates must register themselves in the One Time Registration. For One-time Registration, click on the Register Now link provided in Login Section on the SSC official website: Click Here. You must have a valid email id, mobile number, and digital copy of your photograph, and signature to complete the process. On One Time Registration, enter your basic details, including matriculation or SSLC registration number and should upload the recent photograph and signature. Once you enter your basic details and click on the save icon. Your Registration Number and Password will be sent to you, on your mobile number and Email ID. Save those details for future uses. You can now login using your Registration Number as username and the password provided to you. Change your password, if you wish. After the registration process, the “Basic Details” can be changed only twice.

How to Apply for SSC MTS 2022?

  • Log in to the SSC Official website through your Registration Number and password: Click Here
  • Under the “Apply” tab click on the “Others” tab. Under “Others”, click on the “Multi-Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff Examination”. 
  • Your basic details will get automatically updated on the application form, you need to select whether you are in the EWS section or not.
  • Select your desired choices of examinations. You can select up to three centres.
  • Fill your highest qualification.
  • Indicate your Ex-Servicemen and departmental candidates’ eligibility if applicable.
  • Check the declaration and click on the “I agree” checkbox and fill up the Captcha code.
  • Preview and verify the information and submit the Application.
  • Unreserved male candidates have to pay Rs.100/ as application fees. 
  • Once you complete the application process, you will receive the confirmation message on your registered email, and mobile.

The application fee can be paid online through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, by using Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, RuPay Credit or Debit cards or through cash in SBI Branches by generating SBI Challan.

SSC MTS Notification 2022: Selection Pattern

For selecting the Multi Tasking Staff (MTS), SSC will conduct a two-stage written test followed by the Document Verification Process. The written test pattern is as follows: 

MTS Preliminary Exam

  • There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
  • Since the tests are conducting across different shifts, the marks scored by candidates in Paper-I will be normalized. 

There will be separate category-wise, State/ UT-wise cut-offs in Paper-I. As the vacancies for MTS are in two age groups i.e.

  • 18 to 25 years and
  • 18 to 27 years,

the Commission may fix separate age group-wise, category-wise and State/ UT-wise cut-offs in Preliminary tests. 

SSC MTS Stage: II Descriptive Paper

Candidates should write one short essay/ letter in English or any other language included in the 8thschedule of the Indian constitution 50 marks 30 Minutes 40 Minutes

The descriptive paper will only be of qualifying nature and is intended to test elementary language skills because of categorization of the post as Group-C and because of job requirements. Qualifying marks in Descriptive Paper (Paper-II)  will be 40% for unreserved category and 35% for all reserved category candidates.

  • What are the jobs/posts included in the SSC MTS recruitment?

The posts included in the MTS recruitment are Senior Gestetner Operator, Daftry, Library Attendant, Messenger-cum-Daftry, Jamadar (Senior Peon), Peon, Examination Work Attendant, Chowkidar, Farash and Safai Karamchari.

  • What is the in-hand salary of a selected Multi Tasking Staff in central services?

     If you get posted in any Metro cities, you can have an in-hand salary of Rs. 20,245. 

  • Do the marks of Stage-II descriptive paper counts for the final merit list of SSC MTS?

The descriptive paper will only be of qualifying nature. The candidate’s marks in the descriptive paper (Paper-II) will be used to decide merit in case more than one candidate score equal normalized marks in the preliminary written test.

  • What is meant by the application status showing“Provisionally Accepted”?

Your online application has been submitted successfully and has been accepted provisionally by the SSC, but the commission has not verified the details filled by you. 

  • Is mark normalization rule applicable to SSC MTS 2022 examination?

Marks scored by candidates in Paper-I, CBE will be normalized in SSC MTS 2022 by using the formula published by the SSC.
