SSC JE Recruitment 2023 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements, including education requirements and age limit, in order to be eligible for the SSC JE 2022 Exam. A candidate must be either: (a) an Indian citizen, (b) a Nepalese subject, (c) a Bhutanese subject, or (d) a Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or (e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the four United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Only male candidates are eligible for Junior Engineer positions in the Border Roads Organization (BRO).

SSC JE Recruitment 2023 Application Form
Candidates are advised to submit online applications well in advance of the closing date and not wait until the last minute to avoid the possibility of disconnection/inability or failure to login to the SSC website due to heavy load on the website during the closing days. The Commission will not be held liable if candidates are unable to submit their applications by the deadline due to the aforementioned reasons or any other reason beyond the Commission’s control.

Steps to Apply Online for SSC JE Recruitment 2023
- Applications must only be filed online through the SSC Headquarters’ official website, https://ssc.nic.in.
- If you are a new SSC aspirant complete the one-time registration process.
- Otherwise, you can go to your profile by entering your login details.
- Candidates must upload their scanned, colour, passport-size photo in JPEG format to the online application form (20 KB to 50 KB). The photo shouldn’t be older than three months after the Notice of Examination’s publication date. The photo’s image size should be approximately 3.5 cm (width) × 4.5 cm (height). The subject of the shot should not be wearing a cap or glasses.
- Candidacy will be revoked if the correct photo is not uploaded by the contender.
- Signature scanned in JPEG format (10 to 20 KB). The signature’s image size should be approximately 4.0 cm (width) × 2.0 cm (height). Applications containing a smudged or illegible signature will not be accepted.
- Candidates must double-check that all fields on the online application have the right information before submitting it.
- Applications received without the prescribed fee will be ignored and rejected outright. No objections to such rejection will be entertained. Candidates who are not exempt from paying fees must ensure that their fees have been deposited with the SSC. If the fee is not received by SSC, the application form’s status is changed to ‘Incomplete,’ and this information is printed on the top of the form.
- After the deadline for receiving online applications, the Commission will allow candidates one day to correct/modify online application parameters, during which time candidates will be able to re-submit applications after making the necessary corrections/changes in the one-time registration/online application data.
- During the ‘Window for Application Form Correction,’ a candidate will be allowed to correct and re-submit his modified/corrected application two times, i.e. if he made a mistake in his updated application, he will be allowed to re-submit one more modified/corrected application after making the necessary corrections/modifications. No further changes to the application form will be permitted under any circumstances.
- Only candidates whose completed online applications and payment of the required fee were received by the Commission within the specified time frame will be permitted to make changes to the application form.
- The most recently modified application will be considered valid, and the original application(s) submitted by such aspirants will be cancelled.
- The Commission will charge a uniform correction fee of Rs. 200/- for making corrections and resubmitting modified/corrected applications for the first time, and Rs. 500/- for making corrections and resubmitting modified/corrected applications for the second time. The correction fees will apply to all candidates, regardless of gender or category.

Application Fees
Payment options for the fee include BHIM UPI, Net Banking, Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, RuPay Credit or Debit Cards, as well as in-person payment at SBI Branches using an SBI Challan. For the SSC JE 2022 Exam, applicants must submit an application fee of Rs. 100. Candidates who are women, members of Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), PwDs, and Ex-Servicemen who qualify for reservations are excused from paying the application fees. The fee will not be refunded under any circumstances, nor will it be applied to another examination or selection.

SSC JE Recruitment 2023 Exam Pattern
The examination will be divided into two papers: Paper-I (Computer Based Examination) and Paper-II (Descriptive). Candidates must attempt the General Engineering part (i.e. Part-A, Part-B, or Part-C) in Paper-I and Paper-II, which they have chosen based on their Educational Qualification in the online application form. To put it another way, applicants for the position of Junior Engineer (Civil) or Junior Engineer (Quantity Surveying & Contracts) must attempt Part-A (Civil & Structural) of Paper-I and Paper-II, while applicants for the position of Junior Engineer (Electrical) must attempt Part-B (Electrical), and applicants for the position of Junior Engineer (Mechanical) must attempt Part-C (Mechanical). For each incorrect response in Paper I, 0.25 marks will be deducted. Therefore, it is essential that candidates remember this while they respond to the questions. For Paper II only, candidates are permitted to bring their own Slide-Rule, Calculator, Logarithm Table, and Steam Table. Such aids are not permitted to be used for Paper-I. SSC JE Recruitment 2023 Exam Centres
A candidate must indicate the Centre(s) from which he or she wishes to take the examination in the online Application. A candidate may select three centres within the same region, in order of priority. Under no circumstances will a request to change the location of the examination be considered later. As a result, candidates must carefully select the centres and correctly indicate the same in their applications. The Commission reserves the right to cancel any Centre and require its candidates to appear from another Centre. The Commission also reserves the right to transfer candidates from one centre to another to take the examination. SSC JE Recruitment 2023 Selection Process
SSC JE Recruitment 2022 Selection Process includes a CBT paper 1 exam and paper 2 exam which is descriptive in nature and document verification. Candidates will be shortlisted for Paper-II based on the normalised marks they received in Paper-I. The Commission shall have the authority to set different cut-off marks in each section of Paper-I, taking into account, among other things, category-specific vacancies and candidate numbers. The final selection and allocation of Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations will be based on candidates’ performance in Papers 1 and 2 as well as their preferences for Ministries/ Departments. The final allotment of posts is made on the basis of merit-cum-preferences of Post(s)/Department(s) given by the candidates, and once a post is allotted, the Commission will not change the post due to non-compliance with any post-specific requirements of physical/medical/educational standards or any other requirement.
If more than one candidate receives equal aggregate marks in Paper-I and Paper-II, the tie will be resolved using the following methods in order:
- Paper-II total marks.
- Age, with older candidates, placed higher.
- Candidate names are listed in alphabetical order.
Candidates appointed on the basis of this examination will be on probation for two years, during which time they will be required to undergo such training or pass such examinations as prescribed by the Controlling Authority. SSC JE Recruitment 2023 Admit Card
Staff Selection Commission of India will release SSC JE 2023 Admit Card for Tier-I Exam, followed by Tier-II Examination cards. The admit card is something that candidates must download and bring to the exam centre. Candidates will not be permitted to sit for the exam if they fail to bring two passport-sized recent colour photos and one original photo ID proof, such as an Aadhaar card or printout of an E-Aadhaar, a driving licence, a voter card, a PAN card, an identity card issued by a university, college, or government, an employer ID card, an ESM discharge book issued by the MoD, or any other photo-bearing ID card issued by the Central or The candidate must carry an additional original certificate in case the Photo Identity Card does not contain their date of birth. SSC JE Recruitment 2023 Answer Key
After the exam, the Commission will post the Paper-I tentative answer keys on its website. Candidates may review the Answer Keys and submit any online arguments they may have within the time frame specified by the Commission in exchange for a non-refundable fee of Rs. 100 per question. Before finalising the Answer Keys, any representation regarding the Answer Keys submitted via the online method within the time frame established by the Commission at the time of uploading the Answer Keys will be examined, and the Commission’s decision in this regard will be binding.
