The National Educational Testing Bureau of University Grants Commission (UGC) conducts National Eligibility Test (NET) to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for the post of Assistant professor and/or Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Indian universities and colleges. Candidates who qualify the eligibility test are governed by the rules and regulations for recruitment of Assistant Professor of the concerned universities/colleges/state governments, as the case may be. This test is conducted by the National Testing Agency. This is a national level exam conducted twice every year. It will be an online test consisting of two papers, Paper I and II, conducted in a single session.
