1) How did you prepare for the AFCAT exam?
Explain the way you organised for the exam by going through the syllabus, how you prepared a study plan, segregated the subjects according to the weak and strong sections, and prepared in step as per the priority. 2)Why did you choose it instead of the CDS exam?
Give a sincere response. Like, tell them you have applied for CDS also or explain how crucial AFCAT is to you. Answers vary for different candidates.
3)Why do you want to join IAF?

4)Do you think that AFCAT must be conducted by UPSC or another authority?

1)What are the three sub branches in which the flying branch is trifurcated into?

3)What is the principle on which an aircraft flies?
Aircrafts fly on the principle of aerodynamics and Bernoulli’s principle. The pressure difference over and below the wings gives it lift whereas the engines give it thrust.
4)What is Bernoulli’s principle? Give an example for the same.
The principle states that the increase in speed of a fluid occurs simultaneously with decrease in pressure or a decrease in the fluid’s potential energy. A1V1 = A2V2. An example is venture tube.
5)Explain to me what buoyancy is and how is it related to aircraft?
Buoyancy is the force exerted on an object when it is wholly or partially immersed in a fluid. To fly, a plane needs to displace a mass of air down equal to its own mass each second. The principle of buoyancy applies here too.
6)Tell me the most recent aircraft inducted into the IAF?

7)What is the role of Aircrafts in IAF?

10)What is Knot, Nautical Mile and Mach?
A knot is one nautical mile per hour. A nautical mile = 1.8km/h and mile – 1.6km/h. Mach is the ratio of speed of the object to the speed of sound. If the object is travelling twice the speed of sound, it is said to be travelling in 2 mach.

12)What is streamline shape and why is it important?
A streamline shape lowers the friction drag between a fluid and an object moving through that fluid. The shape is important because it reduces drag to a very high extent.

14)Name the parts of the aircraft from nose to tail?
