Part A

• Have a quick glance at all 4 texts to understand the topics.
• Read the title and then go the paragraph.
• Try to complete all the sections in order. Keep an eye on the spelling when you write the words, as spelling mistakes will cost you marks.
• Set aside 15 minutes for this section.

Part B

• Read the question carefully and then go to the text.
• Understand the type and purpose of the text.
• Read the answer options carefully.
• Eliminate the wrong answers. Be careful with similar words in the option.
• Manage your time well. Leave about 35 mins for part C.

Part C

• Go through the texts from start to finish. Read the questions carefully and answer them in order.

Things to Avoid During OET Exam

1. Avoid reaching late. This might leave you with inadequate time to complete the registration process and you may not be allowed to take the test.
2. Keep your stationery in a clear and transparent pouch or folder.
