Future Action Plan
The Digital Science Park will be a third-generation science park. It is designed with a new philosophy of cluster-based networking – innovation and is designed on a network covering networks built on a triple helix of universities, industry and government Initially, the proposed park will have two buildings with a total of 150,000 sq.ft.
The first building, measuring 100,000 sq ft over 5 floors, will provide a state-of-the-art facility with a research lab and digital incubator, while the second 5000 sq ft building will house operations management so is the digital experience area as well This will be developed within 3 years.
Achievements so far
A total area of 13.93 acres has been identified in Technopark Phase IV for the construction of Digital Science Park. The government has given permission for transfer of land from Technopark Phase IV to Digital University Kerala. They are waiting for Technopark to transfer land. I The foundation stone of the Digital Science Park was formally laid by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India on April 25, 2023. The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Kerala inaugurated the inaugural Digital Science Park at Kabani Bhawan is located in Technopark Charan IV which is about 13000 sqft. on August 1, 2023 locally
The total budget for the project is Rs 1,515 crore out of which Rs 1,175 crore will be borne by KIIFB and the rest will be raised from industry partners. The government has specifically approved the establishment of the Digital Science Park. The Government of Kerala has issued a penalty of Rs 200 crore to fund KIFFB. The DPR was submitted to KIFFB for ongoing funding.
