Every year the Government of India offers a number of scholarships to students who wish to pursue their studies without worrying about the finances. The government scholarships in India can categorized into two types- Central schemed scholarships and State-funded scholarships. While the central schemed/ funded scholarships are sponsored by the Union Government of India the state-funded ones are sponsored and disbursed by respective state’s governments. The National Scholarships Portal (NSP)is the one-stop destination for the students for scholarship applications. National Scholarships Portal is taken as Mission Mode Project under National e-Governance Plan (NeGP).
